Fostering the adoption of GNSS/SBAS use in various sectoral applications in Africa

Presentation of pilot projects, and innovation showcases will be integral components of the GNSS4EarlyWarning event, providing participants and attendees with opportunities to explore cutting-edge technologies, innovative solutions, and practical applications of satellite navigation systems in early warning systems and disaster management. These activities will serve as platforms for knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration, fostering synergies among stakeholders and showcasing the potential of GNSS technology in addressing real-world challenges.

  • ​Leveraging satellite images and GNSS for Early Detection of Agriculture Drought Condition in Niger: A Case Study from GeoMinds Africa (GeoMinds)
     

  • Satellite-Based Early Warning Systems for Crop Monitoring in Precision (Rada, ex GNSS Africa).
     

  • Alerting African farmers to weather hazards and strengthening their capacity to adapt to climate change: combining satellite data with farmer supporting expertise to better reinforce farmers in the face of climatic hazards (Agrosfer)
     

  • Role of community engagement in building resilience against hazards, leveraging emerging technology as a tool for empowering local communities (Flying Labs Burkina Faso)
